Sustainable Physics at Penn State: From Subatomic to the Cosmos is an REU program. Summer research positions are available in physics, chemistry, and nanoscale materials as part of two Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) programs - one hosted by the Penn State Physics Department and one hosted by the Center for Nanoscale Science (an NSF-Materials Research, Science and Engineering Center).REU positions are for ten weeks, 40 hours per week, for current undergraduates in physics, chemistry, materials engineering, applied math, astrophysics. Projects involve working with a team of scientists in a computational, theoretical or experimental research project depending on your interests and availability.
