About this opportunity

The Space Grant Undergraduate Research program at Penn State University offers underrepresented students the opportunity to work in a research lab under the guidance of a faculty mentor for two semesters. During a research assignment, students will work closely with a research team, which typically consists of a Penn State faculty member as well as several graduate students. Students will learn the language of research and how to use high-tech equipment. Students will also learn how to work safely and efficiently in the laboratory. Students will attend lab meetings, participate in discussions, prepare posters as well as collect data, and may even have the opportunity to attend professional conferences or travel off-site to do field work.
