About this opportunity
Over the 10 week summer research period, in addition to learning as part of a research group, participants attend a series of informal seminars covering research and related topics, such as preparing for graduate school and presenting research. These seminars are intended to foster discussion among REU students and faculty.Categories of possible research include Astronomy, Astrophysics, Cosmology, Optics, Quantum Optics, Quantum Information Systems, Particle Physics, Plasma Physics and Planetary Science.At the end of the program students present their work at a poster session and informal symposium. They are encouraged to present their research at professional and student conferences.A stipend of $7,000 plus on campus housing, and meal and travel support is provided for students from outsi
