About this opportunity

The NSF REU Back to the Future site hosts students in a 10-week undergraduate research experience at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology in the beautiful Black Hills of SD. Research is focused on materials and metallurgical engineering with supplemental activities that explore the artistic and historical uses of metals and materials. Projects include critical minerals, metal processing, advanced alloys, biomaterials, surface engineering, and more.
