Research Experience for Community College Students in Critical Zone Science
University of Colorado, Boulder
About this opportunity
RECCS (Research Experience for Community College Students) is a summer research internship available to community college students from across Colorado. Ten students receive a weekly stipend to conduct research at the University of Colorado and associated research institutions over a nine-week period. RECCS offers a unique opportunity to conduct research, both field and lab based, while working with a team of scientists. Students learn basic research, writing and communication skills through weekly workshops, and they present their research at a local student science symposium, as well at a national conference. The critical zone is the Earth's outer skin where rock meets life. It includes the land surface, the air above it, vegetation, water bodies, and it extends through the groundwater zo
