Over twenty plant genomics researchers at Michigan State University collaborate on this NSF funded summer training program for students enrolled in undergraduate studies in biology, chemistry or other related sciences, including computer and computational studies. Students must be entering their sophomore, junior, or senior year as of fall, and be a US citizen or permanent resident to apply. The ten-week program is designed to give students experience in the theory and practice of genomics and includes a wide variety of projects. The main emphasis is on gaining laboratory experience, but the program also includes informal weekly lunches with faculty lectures, social activities, and a poster symposium.Selected students are expected to participate the full 10 weeks of the program and work at
