Center for Emergent Materials Summer Research Experience for Undergraduates
Ohio State University
About this opportunity
The Center for Emergent Materials is a Materials Research Science and Engineering Center, MRSEC, that forms teams of researchers form different disciplines to collaborate in teams called Interdisciplinary Research Groups, IRGs. These IRGs tackle fundamental problems in science too large and complex for one scientist to solve alone. In this REU program, you will work with researchers to 1) Design, analyze, and grow new materials (crystals, thin films, 2D) with unique electronic/magnetic properties, 2) Develop innovative tools to control material properties within/across interfaces, 3) Build theoretical foundations for these emergent properties.During the 10-week program, you will conduct experimental/theoretical/computational research projects with an Ohio State University faculty mentor an
